Harry paints and teaches at Studio 590, a restored 1815 log cabin, in Pinehurst, NC, USA. He began painting in his teens with a Paris trained artist and continues studies with mentors in the US and overseas. This spring Harry took opportunities to meet, talk to, visit or work with some of today's master artists; Danni Dawson, Kurt Schwartz, Camille Kory, and Dee Beard Dean.
Last year's exhibition season brought some great awards, but this spring's one man show was colossal. The February show featured Harry's new works from the past two years. The reception was packed and kicked off the 2010 season with sales and commissions. Following the one man show was a March reception at Spencer Gallery in Charleston, SC. This fall on October 9 Harry and Studio 590 will host an Oil Painters of America paint out at the Pinehurst Harness Track. If you are a plein air painter please contact Harry or the Studio and plan to come.
Harry paints in oils in classical style, but with a modern palette. He is a favored instructor locally and has taught at a nearby university.
Art in America lists Harry in the 2009-10 Artist Index and his work has been in The American Art Collector and Charleston Magazine. Harry is an associate member of Oil Painters of America. He is represented by Campbell House Gallery in Southern Pines, NC, and Spencer Gallery in Charleston, SC.
You can find his paintings in private and corporate collections across the U.S. and in Europe.
